Team

Double M Racing started competing in 2005 in Formula Renault under the banner of Macob Motorsport. The team operates from a new 2,500 sq. ft. workshop in the Worcestershire area, with excellent access to the M5 and M50 motorways and the racetracks throughout the UK. The clinically clean unit is large enough for the preparation and running of the race cars, but more importantly compact enough to keep overheads low, enabling us to provide a professional service at a sensible budget.

The 2005 season was limited to the last few rounds of the BARC season after the team signed up Super 1 karter Alex Morgan. With only limited testing Alex competed in the Snetterton round in August and won on his debut and went on to secure a 4th and 2nd place at the Oulton Park double header. After a good result on the 2005 winter series in Formula Renault Alex decided to compete in the main TOCA supported championship in 2006.

For the 2006 season the team acquired another new car to compete both in the TOCA supported series (Alex Morgan) and in the Formula Renault BARC Championship. Top karters (Tiffany Chittenden and Chris Lamare) signed with the team and competed in selective races throughout 2006.

After a good showing in the 2006 championship, Alex Morgan secured a drive with top formula Renault team Manor for 2007 which has allowed Double M to run two cars in the 2007 UK Formula Renault Championships.
