Gloucestershire based Double M Racing (formerly Macob Motorsport) are delighted at the prospect of running the young Kent driver Aaron Steele in the coming season of BARC Renault. With 7 podiums in his last 7 competitive races Aaron continues to display undeniable potential and has consistently performed in every class of single seater race car he has driven. Double M Team Principal Paul Leach said “we have watched Aaron’s career to date with great interest, he remains a very strong prospect to become a future star in the major formulae and we are very excited at the prospect of being able work with Aaron on building his career.”
The complete package on and off the track Aaron gained the nickname ‘Stainless Steele’ from the mechanics during his almost faultless performance in the 2006 Formula Palmer Audi Autumn Trophy at Snetterton and Brands Hatch where he finished as a very creditable runner up.
Prior to signing with Double M Aaron suffered some setbacks with funding that have provided the opportunity to regroup and develop a revised strategy for the rebirth of Aaron’s drive to success at the very top. To climb a mountain it is sometimes necessary to return to base camp before making a concerted bid for the summit, so it is with Aaron’s career.
The Double M deal presents a great opportunity for Aaron to consolidate his position in single seat racing, he clearly has the ability to win this championship and the backing that Aaron brings to the team provides a great deal for sponsors and supporters with opportunities to fully utilise the car, the driver and hospitality on and off the circuit.
