After a succesful winter test programme spent getting acclimatised with car and circuits all of which are of course new to rookie Ellis, he embarked on his first competitive race of his career.

A red flagged shortened wet qualifying session which determined the starting position for the first race saw Ellis get in the groove and qualify in 14th position, an excellent start to the weekend. With confidence running high as the weather improved, the second qualifying session was run in the dry and saw Ellis qualify 21st.

As the red lights went out for the first race on Sunday morning Ellis stalled at the line, his nerves getting the better of him, however he restarted quickly and forged his way through the field finishing in 18th place out of the 30 starters.

Unfortunatley the weekend was to end on a low point with Ellis' race ending in the gravel trap at the bottom of paddock hill bend after a promising first 5 laps. However the team now look forward to the second race at Rockingham on 20th April.
